I have a very eclectic therapeutic style, and draw interventions from various approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectictical Behavior, Internal Family Systems, Narrative, Acceptance and Commitment, and Psychodynamic Therapies. Meditation and breathing techniques are also woven into sessions where appropriate. I believe that each person benefits from their own individual treatment strategy, and I enjoy collaborating with clients to build a positive and impactful therapeutic experience.
Incorporating meditation into our self care routine can be the thing that changes everything! Simple, daily practices can tone down our fight or flight response, and allow for that moment of clarity between the stressor and the action. As we shift into rest and digest mode, we can finally access those coping skills we've been learning, and respond to life's challenges with intention. Over time, we install a sense of peace and safety within ourselves. We begin to trust ourselves, and know that we, in fact, can can handle things with grace and compassion. Through this trust, self confidence grows. And we find in ourselves the wisdom and courage to live the life we've dreamed of.
